1. Who can join the AT School Share Program?
Any Massachusetts school and/or school district can join the AT School Share Program. The ATSS was created for Massachusetts school systems to allow for the sharing/exchange of AT devices among and between school districts and school systems statewide. Once you've joined, you can borrow/loan devices with other ATSS member schools/districts.

2. Does it cost anything to join the AT School Share?

No. Joining is FREE. Once you've signed up, you'll be able to:

  • Track your school's AT inventory (including device details, photos, videos etc) and list it on the ATSS.
  • Search for devices among other participating ATSS schools/districts and request a "share" (short/long-term loans and/or exchanges) if eligible.
  • See other Highlighted Features of the ATSS.

4. Who can manage/edit my account?

Once your school/district has activated its account, there are three levels of users that you can authorize to access your account (Basic User, Inventory Manager, Inventory Administrator). What are the differences in User Levels?

5. What type of AT devices can be listed?
Any AT device that assists a student with a disability to access the curriculum as identified in the student’s IEP. When considering the exchange of software, please comply with the terms outlined in the license agreement that accompanies the software.

6. What type of AT devices will not be listed on the AT School Share?
Supplies and equipment such as ventilators, oxygen equipment, and catheters will not be accepted. Items posing hygiene or safety risks will not be listed.

7. How can I browse the listed items?
You can view all items on the AT School Share by clicking on the "Search Inventory" button. The resulting list can be filtered/searched by keyword, AT category, by listing type, by status, and by zip code proximity. Once logged in, you can also filter by ItemID and show only your inventory.

8. How can I add an AT device to the AT School Share?
You must be at least an "Inventory Manager" level user to add items to your school's inventory. Once logged in click the "Add Item" link under Manage Inventory.

9. What happens when I add an AT device to my inventory?

After you submit an item it will appear on the AT School Share for all users to find.

Whether or not the device will be eligbile for a "share" and to whom depends on how you classify it. The system will use a combination of these two factors to determine eligibility:

By Current Status:

  • New/Used Purchase (NOT acquired as part of ATSS) - "Yes, available"
  • In-school use by student - "No, not available"

By Listing Type:

  • For use only in my inventory
  • Willing to let any school or district in my collaborative borrow
  • Willing to let any school in my district borrow
  • Willing to let any school borrow
  • Willing to sell/donate

So for example: If you mark the item as "For use only in my inventory" then it will never be eligible for a "share" to other schools/districts regardless of the current availability status.

Once logged in you can see the status of your inventory at anytime under Manage Inventory.

10. How can I edit my listing(s)?
You must be at least an "Inventory Manager" level user to edit items in your school's inventory. Once logged in, under Manage Inventory click "Inventory Summary" and click on the item name you wish to edit. Or click "Edit Item", search/find the item you wish to edit, click through to it's detail page, and click the "Edit Item" button at the top of the screen. Once on the Edit page make any necessary changes directly in the form and click "Save Changes" button.

11. How can I add a photo to my listing(s)?
You must be at least an "Inventory Manager" level user to edit items in your school's inventory. Once logged in, click "Inventory Summary" and click on the item name you wish to edit. Once on the Edit page click "Manage Photos" tab. Click "Browse" and select a photo from your computer and click "Add Photo". Allowed file types: gif, jpg, jpe, jpeg, png and less then 5MB in size. Photos will be automatically resized.

12. How can I add a video to my listing(s)?
You must be at least an "Inventory Manager" level user to edit items in your school's inventory. Once logged in, click "Inventory Summary" and click on the item name you wish to edit. Once on the Edit page click the "Manage Videos" tab. Copy the YouTube video embed code and paste it into the text box and click "Add Video".

15. How can I update my contact information in my account?
Once logged in, click "Edit Profile" under the Manage My Account heading. Your current information will be listed in the form, type any necessary changes directly in the form and click "Save Changes".

16. Why does the AT School Share Program need information about me?
There are two reasons. First, we need your contact information as the person identified by your school system for communication purposes. Second, we are able to bring you the AT School Share as a free service because MassMATCH receives federal funding. In return, we are required to collect and report on specific information. For that reason, we ask you to give us feedback after a successful device exchange or loan. Please be assured that your personal information will never be known to anyone outside of the AT School Share. We will never identify you by name or other defining characteristics in any report.
